John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
I went to church services this morning, I visited with a couple of ladies prior to the start and I left as soon as it was over, when I got home, Mike had the tv on full blast and he was asleep. I didn’t wake him, but let him be. I don’t know how much sleep he’s getting at night, but it must not be enough – he takes naps off and on all day long. I know he struggles with the C-Pap machine.
After Mike woke up, I fixed us lunch and asked him if he wanted to go out to dinner – at first he said yes, then he said he wanted to order something to go, then he said we’ll eat at the restaurant. We ended up at the restaurant. He wanted a sweet potato with marshmallows, but he couldn’t remember what it was, so I ordered it for him. He got a bit annoyed with me…..Oh well.
There have been several times I’ve wanted to share something with him, and I don’t – sometimes I feel like ‘what’s the use?’ I need to talk with someone to find out how to handle this type of situation. I can talk to him, but mostly he doesn’t remember what we talk about, or that we talk at all. I can’t reference my statements with ‘do you remember when we discussed……..’ Or ‘Yesterday, you said…….’ or ‘When you were talking about……., did you mean……’ It doesn’t work that way anymore. I find I talk to the waitresses, or waiters, when I go out for lunch, or coffee – and I know they’re busy, they probably don’t have time to listen to me yatter!
Mike and I got home after dinner, and he wanted to watch Bluebloods, so we went to the family room, and he couldn’t remember how to work the remote. I asked him if I could try and at first he said, “I got it! I’ll figure it out.” After several minutes I asked again if I could try and he was visibly upset, shoved the remote toward me and growled, “Here! Take it!” I got to the program he wanted and he settled down and was happy. All in all, it was a great day. Have a good evening.
