Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith
I am finding, at the ripe age of 70, that I don’t have the strength, or stamina, I had even 5 years ago! That being said – I am not about to quit. Our driveway has been in dire need of being raked for some time, and Mike just isn’t up to it. So I’ve taken on myself to handle this. I will do a bit at a time, until it’s either finished, or it snows, and I am unable to finish.
I have a friend, who has a lovely Friesian stallion, (just a side note!) And she has the flu – not anything else, but the flu. She’s quite ill, and has no desire, or strength, to fix herself any food. I decided I would take her a couple of meals, and they should actually stretch enough to make a total of 9+ meals for her. I made a container of spaghetti, one of chicken and rice soup, and another of chicken and noodle soup. My kitchen looks like a bomb exploded in it and I am okay with that. It’s nice to be able to help others, especially when you feel like you’re in a position where you can’t do much.
I am also excited for tomorrow, because Mike has said he wants to go with me! He almost never leaves the house anymore and this is wonderful news for me. I will enjoy his company on my drive to my friend’s home. So though the kitchen is a disaster, of my own making; tomorrow I will work on the driveway in the early morning, then I will work on the kitchen a bit, and then Mike and I will deliver the meals, and hopefully go out to dinner ourselves. I just have to wait and see how he does overall.
It’s been a great day. Have a good evening.
