Psalm 29:2 Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
Seen in a garden. 2017
I wanted to take a gardening class in Newport, today. So I got up at 7:30 and got ready for the day, and at 8 I went to wake Mike. His door was open, bed empty, and I couldn’t find him! My heart skipped a beat and I became very concerned As I came up to the main floor I began calling Mike’s name – then he answered in a muffled mumble. He had gotten up at some point and laid down on the sofa with a ton of blankets over himself. I was very relieved, almost cried with relief, took a deep breath and said I’d like to leave in half an hour are we going? Mike sat up, said okay and we left almost at 8:30 – close enough. We got to the building, and the people were setting up and Mike sat while I visited with others for about 45 minutes – the class, was starting in 45 minutes from then, and Mike didn’t want to stay, so we left. I did talk with one guy who is going to put me in touch with a Veteran’s Rep to talk about aide for Mike.
From Newport we headed back to CDA, stopped at Elmer’s for Mike’s favorite fish & chips, then home. The rest of the day was spent just sitting. Mike read while I was on the computer. Then it was time to go to Red Robin for our granddaughter’s 13th birthday dinner. We had a good time visiting, Mike ate a lot more than usual and then he was ready to leave. He went straight to bed when we got home.
The days are long, and quiet. The nights are long as I try to sleep with one ear open in case Mike gets up – last night was an epic fail. I talked to Robert about it, and he’s assured me he will be putting the alarm on Mike’s door this week. Unfortunately, with the cold weather, he’s required to be available to get to the food truck to unfreeze water lines! So I may not get the alarm put into place for awhile longer.
It’s now 11:30 pm, and I am quite tired – it’s been a busier than normal day
