Vigorous Cleaning

Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

We climbed the stairs in the remnants of an old castle. Scotland, August 2017

I spent the day cleaning. I did the master closet, bathroom, and bedroom. Mike popped in and out occasionally, but for the most part he either watched tv, or napped. Mike had offered to clean the bathrooms for me, but it didn’t happen, and that’s okay. He went out to the shop to get some gloves for cleaning, and forgot why he was out there.

When Robert came home this afternoon, he asked me if I knew why Dad was in the shop. Nope. No idea at all. Robert said he thought Mike had gotten into the electrical panel, but didn’t find anything amiss. I just don’t know what to do about that. Do I follow Mike each time he goes outside to the shop? He does things in there, and then he forgets what he’s doing, or why, so he comes back into the house. It definitely something I need to discuss with Robert and see what he thinks.

Tomorrow, I will be cleaning the secondary bathroom and the up-stairs hallway, but Robert has offered to clean the tub and the glass doors for me. I am very thankful for that! I have a little room on the main floor that I’ve been wanting to turn into a sitting room, but I might have to make it a bedroom for Mike instead. Either way, Mike has filled it with boxes, and ‘stuff’ and I need to clean it out. There are shadow boxes with various fire fighter patches, for the family room. I made them for Mike 2 years ago, but he’s not ever made an effort to hang them, I believe he’s forgotten about them. I think this is something I’ll begin to focus on over the next couple of weeks. I also have to locate the bugle Mike’s Dad used as a fire chief; I want to put the bugle into a large shadow box, with a couple of photos of Mike’s Dad. One, as a young fire fighter, himself; and two, as a fire chief. (If I can locate the pictures)

I am hoping to, soon, have the house ready to do a ‘tea’ with the ladies. I think I can handle 15-20 with no problem. It’s been years since I’ve hosted a tea party and I do miss doing them.

For now, my main goal, get my house clean! A deep, thoroughly vigorous, cleaning. I love it when my house is organized, and ready to receive guests, or friends, at the drop of a hat! So to accomplish that, I need to get some sleep.
