1 Chronicles 29:13: Now therefore, our God, We thank You And praise Your glorious name.
Me and Mike, Maui, 2017
It was a long day, and it’s still going on after midnight. I was up at 7 and got myself pulled together, even though I only got 5 hours of sleep. Mike had PT today, and I took him to brunch afterwards. While we were finishing up our meal, I suggested we take a drive, instead of going straight home. I was somewhat surprised that Mike said okay.
We ended up driving for close to an hour through Spokane, WA., and almost to the airport. We stopped at one place and walked around awhile, but after only 20 minutes, or so, Mike was tired and wanted to go home. So we climbed back into the car and headed back to Idaho.
Mike took a nap as soon as we got into the house! He didn’t even take his coat off, he just sat down on the sofa and fell asleep. He woke up within an hour and went upstairs to the master bedroom, to watch tv. (I still can’t get the sound to work on the tv in the family room). I wanted to go over to the market, and Mike didn’t want to leave the house again, so I left for almost 30 minutes.
When I got home, Mike called to me, and asked me to go upstairs. I climbed the steps, went into the room, and he asked me to walk over to him. So I did. He was standing next to the bed – and he reached his arms out, and said, “Please come here, I think you need a hug!” And he gave me the longest, bestest, hug I have had in ages! OMGosh! I almost cried because it was so sweet, and unexpected, and precious.
Then he sat down to watch tv again, and I went into the office to work on a project. Mike has now gone to bed, Robert and I talked for an hour, the grandkids had a very late dinner, and now it’s time for me to shut down.
