Traumatic Day

Psalm 9:2 I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

April in Israel, 2017

Today’s appointment didn’t go anyway like I thought it would 1st, the doctor gave Mike another set of memory tests. 3 words to remember apple, table, penny. Then: In your head subtract 7 from 100 = _____ Now subtract 7 from that # _________ and again 7 from the new number__________ (Mike couldn’t get it past the 1st answer of 93.

Spell the word world – wolrd (is how Mike did it) now spell it backwards dlwo again how Mike spelled it

What month is it? March (It’s April) what date? 16 (he asked 4x when he was signing in} What day is it ‘Monday” (today is Friday)

Then, what are the 3 words you were asked to remember “W” “penny” “I don’t remember”

Copy a diagram

On and on it went and Mike totally failed At the end of the day, around 6, the doctor called me and said because of the notes I had sent to him about Mike, and the failure of the various tests today, he is diagnosing Mike with advanced Alzheimer’s. Treatment will remain the same, the chances of Mike going downhill rapidly are greatly increased; and here we are.

I need to get some sleep now. It’s been a traumatic day for me
