Out for a while

Proverbs 27:2 Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips.

Mike snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef, October 2019

Mike didn’t get up until after 10 this morning, and he sat on the sofa for a solid 30 minutes not saying a word. Finally he asked, “Would you like to go to the Home & Garden show at the fair grounds?” I immediately responded with a yes! Mike usually never wants to leave the house. He said okay, but I have to take a shower 1st. (sigh) I smile at him and say okay.

at 11:30 Mike said he was ready to leave, and he began to walk out toward the garage; he never said a word as he came out of the shower, or got dressed, or anything. I was fully ready to go at 10:30, but I just sat and waited. I grabbed my purse and jacket – it was sprinkling – and we headed out.

The show was a small one, we walked around for about 30-45 minutes, and Mike was beginning to get tired; but there was also a gun show at the fair grounds, and he wanted to check it out. We drove to the other side of the grounds, and paid the entrance fee to go into the gun show. We only walked 2 aisles and Mike said he was done. His walk was so slow, and shuffling, I ended up having to stop for him to catch up, and then I walked at his speed level so he wouldn’t get lost in the crowd.

As soon as we got home, Mike fell asleep, I sat with my computer and let him snore as long as he needed. By the time he woke up, I was feeling like I needed a nap! It was raining pretty good, and I was cozy warm and drowsy. Mike fell asleep again, and I went to the bedroom. I ended up sleeping for 2 hours, when I got up, Mike was in the family room with the tv blaring. I told him I needed to fully shut down for tonight and he agreed he needed to sleep more, also.

So he’s already asleep at 8:30 at night, and I will be soon, myself.
