Heart Break

Isaiah 61:11 For as the earth brings forth its bud, As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

A small toadstool – pretty to look at.

Today was a very busy day. We left the house at 8:30 to get the tires changed to summer ones, from the snow tires. Then I needed to have an alignment done. We left the tire store at 11:15 and went to the Hayden Senior center for lunch. It was extremely delicious tamale pie made with a sweet corn bread.

Yesterday, Mike had purchased a hedge trimmer, and it immediately quit working after he began to use it, and he wanted to take it back to the store today to see what was going on, so as soon as he got the winter tires out of the car, he put the hedge trimmer into the trunk and we took off to Post Falls Ace Hardware. They worked on the trimmer, and it’s running again.

On the way to take the hedge trimmer back, Robert called, he had a flat and needed to be picked up, so I took a detour to get him and deliver him back to the food truck, before we headed over to PF. We got home and Mike was watching tv, and I had 3 calls from Walgreens saying one of Mike’s prescriptions was ready to be picked up. I asked Mike to go with me and he refused, saying he wanted to continue to rest, and just watch tv. I decided I could run to the pharmacy and be right back, with no other stops.

I was gone 20 minutes! I got back into the house and it smelled horrible! I went flying through the house to find out what was burning, and I saw my microwave popcorn popper sitting on the burner of the gas range, with the plastic melted over the stove top!

Mike decided he wanted popcorn! And forgot how to do it – so he turned the burner on under the popper – (at least he had enough remembrance to turn the flame off!) Then he couldn’t remember what to do next, so he just left it until I got home to tell him what to do next. The plastic had cooled, and was stuck to the burner plate, along with the glass jar of the popper.

He then forbade me to tell the doctor what happened, he told me he was going to find somewhere else to live, he told me I was not trustworthy, and he told me he would refuse to be locked up! WOW!

An hour later he doesn’t even remember what he did. He doesn’t remember the melted plastic all over the stove, and he doesn’t remember any part of it. My heart is breaking for him. My heart is hurting for what I’ve lost.
