Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Mike and me at Loch Tummel in Pitlochry, Scotland August 2017
Today I tried to get Mike to leave the house and it just wasn’t happening! He flat out refused to go anywhere. I tried several times, offered him lunch out, dinner out, an apple fritter or a blueberry fritter, a coffee, hot chocolate, etc. NOPE! He wasn’t going to leave the house for any reason at all.
I started my 5th book today – it’s been a long week of sitting at home. I also organized a couple of shelves in my storage area. From there I fought with my printer for several hours, and the darn thing still won’t work for me. And the 1 person here, who understands all this tech stuff, isn’t willing to help me. I am frustrated and will probably have to pay someone to come in and get the darn thing working for me, or purchase ANOTHER! printer. The biggest thing, I wanted to print a picture of the melted popcorn popper with a letter to Mike’s neurologist and since my printer is not working I can’t do that!
I have offered to have a gardening group over to the house to talk to them about food storage and preparation, and I have a small cookbook, with recipes to share with them. I don’t know if they’ll take me up on my offer, but I am willing to help them, especially if it turns out they’d be willing to help me with some of my gardening questions!
This evening, as I was heading to bed, Mike asked me to fix him a pot pie. (shudder) I just don’t care for them, much. But Mike loves them! So I always try to have a few on hand. Anyway, I was happy to do that for him. I had made him a grilled cheese sandwich earlier, and I know he ate it, but usually he won’t ask or he won’t remember if he’s eaten.
I have a busy day scheduled for tomorrow, and I need to close so I can get everything prepped for the day. There’s a ton I need to do and I only have 2 1/2 hours, Mike will be in adult day care, and a guy is coming at 2 to look at my stove.
