Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
Mike at Port Isaac, Cornwall, 27 July 2017 – 70th birthday.
This morning, Mike was up earlier than usual – at 8:30 am! He was dressed for the day and I told him we didn’t need to leave until 11, so he laid down on the sofa and went to sleep. He stayed there, snoring very loudly, until 11 am. And we ended up leaving the house at 11:20. That was okay, because that was the time I had planned to leave, I just needed to tell Mike we needed to leave earlier so we could be on time!
On the way over to the Bennett House, Mike demanded I pick him up at 2 pm, no later. I told him I was going to do some photography and I would for sure get him by 2:30 and I would try to be back by 2. I got to the Bennett House at 2:15 and had a few minutes to talk to one of the care givers. I asked how Mike was doing and she said he was sullen and had been refusing to participate in the activities they did. She said someone would sit next to him and talk to him and he completely ignored them, or he would look at them and never say a word! (Mike had been telling me they never did anything and he was just sitting there watching old westerns on tv, and he could sleep at home just a well as he could sleep there) Today they celebrated someone’s birthday – there was music and pie. Mike really likes pie, so that made him happy; and for the music, they gave him some noise makers to keep time with the music and at first he totally resisted, but eventually he began to keep time with the music. He was in a really good mood when I picked him up. On the way home he said to me, “that place you take me to is an adult day care place.” I said, “Oh? Really?” and left it there. He never responded.
Tonight we went to dinner at church, and then participated in Praise and Worship – It was quite lovely. I am enjoying being able to get to some worship service.
Mike is now getting ready for bed, I have laundry going, and we have a list of errands to run tomorrow.
