Slipping

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

In Flight

I had a rough night, last night, and only got about 4 hours of sleep. Then a busy day and I felt like a walking zombie. I was up at 6:30 and sat on the patio for about an hour, reading and having a cup of tea. I went inside and sat for a while, did a load of laundry, did some dishes, had a 2nd cup of tea, and at 8:45 woke Mike up to go to the chiropractor.

After we finished there, Mike asked to go to Elmer’s and he ordered a cheeseburger and I had a Belgium waffle with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. A few stops later and we were home. Mike lost the remote for the tv – he said he’s been looking for it for 2 days, but I know he had it yesterday. I helped him search and couldn’t find it, but Robert finally did. Thank you, Robert! 🙂

This afternoon, the grandkids, and a friend were here to swim and Robert fixed 2 salmon steaks on the grill – OMGosh! They were so delicious! When it was time to eat, I took Mike’s glass of water from him and carried it outside to the patio. He seemed to have trouble navigating the couple of steps down from the house to the patio area. Mike ate more slowly tonight than he’s been doing, and he tried 2x to take a bite of rice, and it kept falling off his fork onto the ground – he finally gave up. As he headed inside, I took the glass from him so he could more easily balance himself getting back into the house.

Mike was up and down stairs all afternoon, and I could hear him slipping as he walked, he always denies it, but I can hear the ‘almost’ falling, the catching his breath, and the stumbling into the wall, as he grabs the railing. I am going to have to track, more consistently, when he slips, trips, and falls. The doctor believes he’s not a fall risk, but I know better!

Tomorrow promises to be another very busy day. So I plan to shut down and go to sleep, now.
