Acts 20:32 “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
The Memorial Bell is rung for each firefighter who has passed away within the last year.
Today Mike went to lunch with Tom, and I picked Mike up at the restaurant so we could go to the Firefighter’s Memorial get together. It was held at the Coeur d’Alene Tribe Casino in Worley. Our email said the time frame was 11-6, we got there at 12:30, and discovered it didn’t start until 2!! So we drove down to Plummer, had a soda, drove through Worley, stopped and talked to a couple of people, and then back to the casino. We went to the Pavilion and there were several who were arriving just as we did, so everyone walked in together – Mike and I were last. 🙂 It was interesting, he held my hand going in, and during the ceremony, and again as we left to come home. He only holds my hand when he feels unsure of his surroundings, or where he’s going (however, it is happening more frequently.)
After we got home, Mike immediately laid on the sofa and dozed off to sleep. I went outside, and moved 2 bags of 2 cubic yards of potting soil, I moved 2 large pots (they were plastic). Then I got the bags of soil opened, and managed to pick up the bags and dump them into the pots. From there I transplanted 4 horseradish plants into the pots. I ran the water on the rest of the garden that was already planted, so by the time I was done with the transplants, the watering was complete.
Someone said I should take a break! HA! When??? Most of the time, my MWF time of noon -2 is used up for errands, or doctor appointments for me, or getting a thousand and one other things handled. I would love to have time just for me! I do get some time this coming Saturday and I am so looking forward to that – I think I would cry if somehow it fell through.
Much of my day/s are spent handling Mike, the house, the bills, making sure the trash is out of the house (I usually go around 2x a week and check all the trash cans) laundry, dishes, weeding outside, watering the garden, building and fixing, planting etc, the garden; organizing, cleaning Mike’s room, doing his laundry, cleaning his bathroom, picking his clothes up from the floor and putting them away in the dresser or hanging them up. And that’s a normal day – sometimes it all goes sideways and I just have to deal with whatever the issue, and the next day, go back and start again.
Anyway, Mike slept, and then he woke up at 8 and wanted dinner – again! He had dinner at the Memorial! Mike decided he would fix his own dinner and turned the stove on! Imagine my surprise, because I thought it had been turned off this morning after being used! But I got up and fixed him dinner, then I cleaned the kitchen, and the pans from this morning, and the plates, bowls, etc. I waiting until he sat down in the living room to turn it off, that way he wouldn’t see me do it.
I thought, for sure, tonight would be extremely long, since Mike was so wide awake – but now he’s gone to bed, and I plan to do the same.
