Psalm 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
Today I spoke with a case worker and she made several suggestions for me to do with Mike.
Get a bracelet with his name, my phone number, and say dementia patient on it, in case he gets lost.
Go to the local fire & police station with Mike’s photo and our address so he’s “on file” in case he gets lost
Contact the local VA and get paperwork started for him to have care
Begin touring long term care facilities and get him on several waiting lists, and be sure to check their financial policies.
Contact the Health and Welfare department to ask for legal aid in finding a suitable facility that won’t take everything we’ve worked for for years! (And leave me destitute!)
There are more items, she’s going to make a full list for me and I will have to be very diligent to get them accomplished, and I need to start now, not wait until it’s a dire need.
Mike was calmer today, but still testy with me and he seems to be upset about something, but I can’t figure out what, and he isn’t remembering, or knowing, what has him in a dither.
However , tomorrow is a new day, and I will begin again.
