Lisa and I talked quietly for a couple of hours, until Mike got up. While I fixed his breakfast, Lisa took a shower, then Mike needed help getting his shoes on.
The 3 of us went to the Bennett House and I signed Mike in, then Lisa and I took off for a while. I took her to the Garnet Cafe, then we drove to Worley, and to Mica Bay on the way back to Coeur d’Alene. We got Mike and then I took Lisa to Fernan Lake and to Lake Coeur d’Alene.
After we got home, Mike got really agitated about a flashlight not working, and he wanted me to go to the store to get batteries RIGHT NOW!! I told him no, he didn’t like that at all. I told him I would be happy to get batteries tomorrow and he wasn’t happy with that answer either. (sigh)
He went to bed, and 45 minutes later he was up again to tell me how upset he was with a door on the stairs that lead to the basement. I told him I couldn’t have him on the stairs anymore because I had to call Robert when Mike had problems. Mike asked why was the door locked and I told him so he wouldn’t try using the stairs. “I want to speak with the doctor! Locking me up isn’t right. ” I told him no one has locked him up and he can go out any door! He grumbled but went back to bed. Now, at 10:30, he’s been up 3x wanders around the house and goes back to bed. IF I ask him what he needs, he then says he has to go to the bathroom.
I find there are days it’s easy to care for him, physically and emotionally, and there are days when it’s exhausting and tearful all day long. For the most part, today was an easy day.
I am hoping to get a good nights sleep this evening so I need to close
