Today was easier than some

Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

From my garden

Mike only woke me 3x last night; I got a fairly decent amount of sleep. I was up, for the day, at 7 and downstairs by 7:15. Mike was getting dressed, he had a shirt on. I told him he could sleep for 2 more hours and he said, “but you called me!” I assured him I hadn’t, and I was able to convince him to go back to bed. He climbed in without taking off the shirt.

I sat for an hour enjoying the quiet and a hot cup of tea. Then I put clothes into the dryer, unloaded the dishwasher, and printed some documents. At 9:30 I woke him and said it was time to get up. He needed help with his shoes and socks, and we were out the door by 10.

We went to the chiropractor and then to Elmer’s. Mike had an omelette with avocado, sour cream, grated cheese, and salsa; I had ham and eggs.

Once we got home, Mike immediately went to sleep, and I went out to the garden. I trimmed the tomato plants, cutting off all branches that didn’t have fruit. Then I did a quick harvest and went back into the house. I really don’t like leaving Mike alone for any length of time, and I’m never sure how long he’ll sleep.

Around 5:30 he wanted to go to bed and I told him he needed to stay up for 2 more hours, he didn’t care for that, but said he’d watch some tv. He fell asleep on the lounge chair.

At 7 I woke him, gave him his evening meds, and helped him into bed. 15 minutes later he was up to get a drink, back to bed; then he was up to go to the bathroom, back to bed; then he wanted to find his eye drops, back to bed; finally he wanted his glasses, I showed him they were on his night stand, and so far he’s stayed in bed – it’s now 9:15.

I have finished preparing for tomorrow’s errands, and I have my clothes laid out. It’s time to close down for tonight.
